Inbound Diagnostic

Overview

Inbound diagnostic is the first step in addressing any issues related to th the WanderSwitch. The process involves identifying and troubleshooting hard hardware or software faults before attempting repairs.

Steps

1. Physical Inspection

• Inspect for visible damage, such as cracks on the casing, discolored P

PCB areas, bent components, and loose screws. 2. Power-On Testing

• Connect to power (if neutral is not required) and check if the device

powers up correctly. 3. Functionality Check

• Verify basic functionality by manually operating the switch.

4. Firmware Update Check

• Ensure that firmware is at latest version using Nordic nRF52840 or Ray

Raytac MDBT50Q-1MV2 as secondary source.

Test Cases

• TC-001:
• _Scenario_: Device does not power up.
• _Action_: Inspect for loose connections, replace STMicro T1235H TRIAC (

(part no. STM4068) if faulty.

• TC-002:
• _Scenario_: Button presses are unresponsive.
• _Action_: Check Nordic nRF52840 firmware and update if necessary.

Field-Replaceable Units

Overview

Field-replaceable units (FRUs) include the components that can be easily sw swapped out without extensive disassembly or special tools. FRUs for Wander WanderSwitch are:

• Nordic nRF52840 - Part No: NRF52840-QFAA1T3
• STMicro T1235H TRIAC - Part No: STM4068
• L9961 Power Supply Module - Part No: 9961PSP

Replacement Procedure

1. Nordic nRF52840

• Remove old chip and replace with new NRF52840-QFAA1T3.
• Reconnect power source and test functionality.

2. STMicro T1235H TRIAC

• Unmount faulty TRIAC and install new STM4068.
• Test switch operation for correct dimming behavior.

3. L9961 Power Supply Module

• Replace old module with 9961PSP.
• Verify power supply is sufficient by checking voltage levels across PC

PCB components.

Battery Service

Overview

WanderSwitch does not require a battery due to its design, but for models r requiring backup batteries (not currently in production), the process would would involve accessing the compartment and replacing the battery.

Steps

1. Remove Backplate

• Unscrew backplate retaining screws.

2. Battery Removal & Replacement

• Slide out old CR2032 coin cell battery.
• Insert new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct orientation.

3. Reassemble and Test

• Reattach backplate securely.
• Power up device to ensure proper operation.

Firmware Roll-Back

Overview

If a firmware update is found faulty or causes unexpected issues, roll-back roll-back to the previous stable version can be necessary.

Procedure

1. Identify Stable Version:

• Consult firmware release notes to determine most recent stable build.

2. Download Legacy Binaries:

• Obtain legacy firmware files from secure server.

3. Roll-Back Firmware:

• Follow standard update procedure but use older binary file.

Decommission + Secure-Wipe

Overview

Decommissioning involves safely retiring a WanderSwitch from service. This process includes secure wiping of all data stored on the device, ensuring n no sensitive information remains accessible post-decommission.

Procedure

1. Disable All Pairings

• Press panic-wipe button combo (3 consecutive presses) to erase all pai

pairings. 2. Factory Reset:

• Perform factory reset by pressing and holding paddle for 10 seconds un

until LED flashes green. 3. Physical Destruction of Data Storage

• Use a degausser or physically destroy any non-volatile memory chips on

on the board.

Ambassador Signature Provenance

Overview

Each WanderSwitch has a unique signature engraved inside the wall plate, pr providing verification that it is an authentic device manufactured by Wande WanderNode and bearing the personal seal of the ambassador who serviced it last.

Verification Process

1. Signature Inspection

• Inspect inner face of wallplate for engraving.

2. Comparison with Record

• Cross-reference signature against official records to confirm authenti

authenticity.
