At the founder's retirement, the company converts to a Public Benefit Corporation, and Class A shares transfer to Wandering With Pride Inc. — the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that already runs the WanderSafe travel-safety platform. The hardware company becomes nonprofit-owned, in perpetuity.
The for-profit hardware operating company. Files BOMs, hires Ambassadors, runs factories, ships products, pays taxes. Founder receives a W-2 salary capped at a public multiple of the local living-wage calculator. No founder-equity payouts beyond that salary.
A 501(c)(3) public charity. Currently operates WanderSafe (LGBTQ+ travel safety platform, 161 destinations live) and WanderHaven (community LoRa-mesh network). Receives 30% of every WanderVerse hardware sale via the Community Pool. At founder's retirement, will own the LLC outright.
Michael Eisinger. 11+ years in nonprofit and federal program management. Built WanderSafe, runs Wandering With Pride. Lives in DC. Writes WanderVerse on a Mac mini that runs the whole stack locally. Compensated by W-2 salary from the LLC.
The hire plan calls for an engineering lead, a contract manufacturer relationship, and a Tier-3 medical Ambassador trainer in 2026–2027. As the catalog grows, the Ambassador network grows. The team-of-one phase ends when the first paid engineer is hired.
